• You are responsible for development and build-up of test workstations for our in-house manufactured optical mirrors (e.g. aspheric and freeform optics) and telescope systems
• You define optical alignment and test solutions prior to the manufacturing phase using devices such as autocollimators, interferometers, wavefront sensors, CGHs for measuring surface roughness, system wavefront errors, etc.
• You support the development of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing test solutions using e.g. coordinate measurement machines
• You define and perform reliability and reproducibility studies to qualify designed tests for serial production prior to release into manufacturing
• You employ test methodology and hardware schemes for serial manufacturing test
• You closely work together with Engineering and the Operations Team to ensure optical test capabilities are procured and successfully deployed
• You work with Engineering to transition optical high-end assemblies from Design to Production.

• University degree in engineering/ physics or another relevant technical discipline (specialization in an optics/photonics is a plus)
• Experience in setting-up optical alignment and test solutions with optical metrology equipment such as interferometers, autocollimators, wavefront sensors, etc.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and an understanding of test automation using industry-standard solutions such as LabView, Python, C++/C#
• Good understanding of optical and mechanical design drawings and specifications
• Experience in setting-up test solutions for high volume optics manufacturing is a plus
• Experience with coordinate measurement machines and further geometric dimensioning and tolerancing metrology equipment is a plus
• Experience in optical design & analysis tools such as Code V, Zemax or equivalent is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
