As a Junior Production Manager, you will support and manage a production team focused on Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) as well as Metrology within a defined area of optics production. You will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, timely delivery, and adherence to high-quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and coordinating the production process in your area, with a strong focus on AIT and metrology.
• Leading day-to-day team activities including scheduling, workflow oversight, and team task assignments.
• Contributing to regular metrics reviews and identifying improvement opportunities as part of our continuous improvement initiatives.
• Managing and developing a small team with the aim of scaling the team and operations as we grow.
• Taking ownership of team performance, training, development, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Upholding a safe and professional work environment, including implementing and maintaining 5S, Six Sigma, and relevant health and safety standards.
• Demonstrating leadership by working beyond standard hours when required to meet operational goals and support your team.

• 2–4 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably within serial or mass production.
• Passion for leading teams and growing into a larger managerial role over time.
• A strong willingness to learn optics manufacturing and the laser communications sector—prior optics experience is a plus, not a must.
• Good understanding of lean manufacturing and operational process optimization.
• Strong critical thinking skills and a proactive mindset toward challenging the status quo while maintaining process and quality compliance.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members in a dynamic production environment.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office, ERP/MRP/SAP/MES systems, and ability to learn custom-developed production tools.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.
